We've had a lot of feedback from recruiters recently who review this site and that of www.resume-services.com.au and www.resume-solutions.com.au. This feedback more relates to how to approach recuiters as opposed to resumes / CV's and employment trends.
1) Many recruiters have express concern that not enough job seekers are bothering to introduce a cover letter for mid to high end roles. This has been viewed negatively.
Throughout our career guidance pages, we have continuously stressed the importance of a cover letter in strengthening your job application. You can use some of our sample cover letters or you can also find a number across the web. Whatever system you use, make sure you attach a cover letter.
2) On a 2nd topic, a number of recruiters have expressed concern that job seekers forget who they apply to and the jobs they have applied for. It's really important that you keep a system of control including copies of job ads and dates applied for. This will help avoid embarrassing situations and ensure you are properly prepared at all times.
3) When going to an interview with a recruiter, treat it like an interview. They are the eyes and ears of an employment company, so always keep this in mind.
