Salary Surveys - The 3 Golden Rules
- When reviewing external vacancies, your true market worth will only be met if there is an exact match on your background and experience. If you have recently obtained a new level of responsibility, you will need to have sustained that position for at least 6 - 12 months before you can be assessed at that level.
- Most salary surveys offer a very broad range so its advantageous to speak with a recruiter directly as they can provide more exact figures
- Most jobs provide some form of salary range. If you apply to a position that falls either over or under your current salary by around 30%, then there's a fair chance that you are wasting your time applying.
